my daughter is very ill with a brain problem she filed for ssd and was turn down they she hired a lawyer he was suppose to file a reconsideration that was 6 month's ago so happen she called ssd to check on the statics of her reconsideration and they said they never receive it what can we do we have no money and need help bad it has been 18 months since she first filed

Check with the lawyer and see what he says. If he says he filed, and the SSD says they never received it, your next call should be to your state bar assocation. Lawyers have a moral and legal obligation to do what they say they will do.

Fire him and be your own lawyer by going to the SSD and explain to the person in charge what happened to your daughter's case. If the SS employee is nice and accomodating, he or she can re-file your daughter's case. Sometimes, it is better to do things yourself rather than paying a lying lawyer.

Question ? is their a Doctor involved And if your daughter has a Brain illness, then why is she dealing with the lawyer. should`nt the guardian of this ill person be negotiating with the Lawyer.

Call the lawyer who you spoke with, find out from him what is going on. Lawyers are human too, things get shuffled to the bottom of the stack and unless you call them often, your paperwork may stay buried.

Get another lawyer and sue the first one for malpractice.

Contact your state's bar assosciation, things like that can get that lawyer's license to practice revoked.
