You can even find some freewares at http://www.download.com just do a search for picture slideshow. Make sure you get FREEWARES and not Sharewares. Sharewares are the ones where its only a trial and they make you purchase it later.

If you have a newer computer you can use Windows Movie Maker. It is free in Windows XP.
