My son grew them a few times, yes they are cool. Also try Triops- they have a 3rd eye and grow to be about 2 inches in length. (They are a bit creepy though, like swimming cockroaches). But, I am weird- they mesmerized me! From the dinosaur age, and still around!

I took them to show and tell in 3rd grade and on the bus ride home, the top slipped off and it toppled over and went swimming over the entire bus back and forth when the bus gases and braked. So overall they sucked
