For somebody not to tell you a simple thank you after you petsit for them. I did it as a favor for somebody to make their life easier when they were out of town. But when they came back they didn't even acknowledge the effort I had put in. It was for a couple of months. I didn't expect anything material at all. I just wanted a real thank you.

And you should have gotten it, not everyone is as thoughtful as you, you saved them lots of grief and they knew their pet was in good hands, they should have at least brought you a gift to thank you, sometimes money is too formal, but a gift always says thank you. now you know what type people you are dealing with,
act accordingly, but don't change your character because they are aholes. I will thank you: Thank you for being a good and kind person, the world needs more of you. (wanna pet sit? just kidding)

My summer job is actually petsitting, and although I get paid half of what my boss charges, it's still a considerable amount. You made sure their animals were healthy, and well taken care of by someone they can trust. Most of the clients I meet thank us even before they leave for vacation because they recognize the valuable service we are putting in for them - the animals come first.

Yes it is rude and inconsiderate and stupid and thougtless on top of all that! I just wouldn't do any more favors and I wouldn't bring it up. If they are that dumb not to acknowledge someone for being there for them like that then they probably won't even get why you are bringing it up. Stop doing favors and watch for your opening to let them have it! Then they will see the error of their ways.

Yes they have been very rude to you. You did a nice neighbourly thing. Don't let this experience make you feel that you don't want to help out others. It is very hard to find people to trust with a job like that. You are a great person.

Thank you's are always nice to hear, and a couple months was a long time to dog sit. Why so long? Maybe they were jellious because the dog was better taken care of.

How nice of you to do that for them. How nice for the pet that they left for so long. Thank goodness you were willing to do the care of the pet. I will say thank you for them. It was thoughtless and ungrateful of them but now you know what they are really like. You need kinder acquaintances and friends. Just don't you change!

A couple of months?!? A simple "Thank you" is the least they could have done!.
Heck, when my brother and his family went on vacation I had to take care of their cat, rabbit, and fish. They gave me a Home Depot gift card and $50. I told them they didn't have to, but they really appreciated the service I provided.

It's beyond rude. People like that don't deserve friends like you. Console yourself with the knowledge that the "pet" probably had the best time of his/her life. Good job! Thank you!
