Try the Catholic Worker website: http://www.catholicworker.org/index.cfm

In particular, one of the best examples is Dorothy Day: http://www.catholicworker.org/dorothyday/ddbiographytext.cfm?Number=72

With love in Christ.

i hope this helps

i work for a nonprofit organization that is run and founded by catholic nuns. we are not a faith-based organization, actually an adult education/vocational training center for at-risk young adults in orange county.

the order that this nun belongs to is the Sisters of St. Joseph. historically they are all about social justice. they are very liberal.

so i'd search on Sisters of St. Joseph and see what you find.

if you check out our organization and find you would like to use it as an example feel free to let me know, i'd be happy to help.

**also, check out the work/social involvement of Sister Helen Prejan (inspiration for Dead Man Walking) and Martin Sheen. they actually endorsed a book that the founding nun of our organization wrote.

go to amazon.com and search "A Story of Suffering and Hope" for more info
