That's very funny!

As soon as we start concentrating on ourselves, the rest of the world goes for a dump. To look at the world as a whole means that you try to undertand your own interconnectedness with everything that happens. So, you buy candy at Walmart and another kid goes into the sweatshop to make it... do you understand?

Basically, it is to take the perspective of someone else who was raised with a different belief system than you were. This helps to become more open-minded and accepting of other's way of living. For example, some people believe that piercing is a necessary rite-of-passage to become an adult. Others think it is a form of self-mutilation, and that it should not be done. It all depends on your cultural beliefs. It is important to realize that other people do not have the same beliefs as you do, and that because of that they are not wrong, they just believe something different. There is no right or wrong about certian beliefs, just a different perspective.

It's easy to be duped by our fellow human beings. Plenty of dishonesty and corruption worldwide. So it's best to look at the world in a wide prospective because there is also goodness and charity in the world. One should not be overly cynical about greed or lust for power. Even though it exists all over, it's tough to stay sane knowing this, so one should take a broad view of world, and not dwell on the corruption.
