Friday I was at 7 weeks. Today I had my first inner-vaginal ultrasound. My doctor said that he was worried that the baby was about 2 weeks too small for the dates..... I know exactly when I had my period and when I ovulated because we were charting at the time. He said that he thinks that the pregnancy stopped growing about 2 weeks ago and I just haven't lost it yet. He did see it in the ultrasound, but it measured 2 weeks smaller that the actual date. I have to wait until Wed to go to the hospital for a better ultrasound. I still feel pregnant, my breasts hurt, I am very tired, there is no bleeding.....the wait is killing me. Is this pregnancy doomed?

He said that heart beats can not be heard until 10 - 12 weeks. He said that the quality of the inner -vaginal ultrasound that he has is poor and I could SWEAR that I saw the heartbeat flutter there, but he didn't mention it. He said that is why he is sending me to the hospital for the ultrasound because their equipment is better. I had a blood test today and we should have the results of the pregnancy hormone levels tomorrow -

Well, we got the blood test reults back and the progesterone level is at 21 and the pregnancy hormone is at 42,197! The Dr stated that it looks alot better today than it did yesterday! Hopefully all will be well with the ultrasound tomorrow!

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope there is positive news on Weds.
But sometimes babies in uterus are hard to measure out. My ob told me my daughter could be around 7lbs due to ultrasound measurements and pubis measurements. To all of our surprise my daughter was 9 lbs and 22 inches!!! We were told from all radiologist and the doc she was going to be tiny. I think u should be able to hear something in the womb at this time or atleast good formation. I'm trying to remember my ultrasound testings (had several during that time (8 weeks)due to other medical complications) But don't stress urself out about it. And ask the radiological dr to say if it looks good. Not the tech...they can tell u everything thats growing but can't really tell u the outcome...and don't be afraid to call ur ob after the results...the radiology doc can tell ur doc and ur doc can tell u. God luck and my prayers are with u

You could be not as far along as you think. That could be the case. Ultrasounds at the hospital are better than the ones at your doctors office also the person that will do your ultrasound is a specialist. Don't worry or stress about anything... that is not good for you or the baby. Hope all goes well.

OMG it's horrible that you doctor is leading you to think this way. I think you need a second opinion. If you have no bleeding you may have just miss calculated. I though the heartbeat can be heard anywhere from 7 - weeks.
I feel your pain with the worrying. I just had a miscarriage today. It was sooo hard trying to get through the weekend not knowing what was going on inside my tummy. I had bleeding do I knew to think the worse.
I preay that all will be okay with you and your baby.
God Bless!!!

I think you should be fine, if there is no abdominal pain, and no bloody show, you havent lost your baby.
Just relax, dont stress cos it isnt good for your child.
Ultrasounds arent always accurate.
For example:
My aunty was pregnant, she was 8 weeks, and was told. via ultrasound that her baby didnt have a heart beat and that it was going to have to be taken.
So for the next few weeks leading up to her operation she was stressing out and worrying, drinking and smoking.
when on the day the dr asked why she was terminating a healthy 10 week old fetus.
So that proves that they do make mistakes.
But fingers crossed for you hun. I hope everything goes well. And good luck with you bub.

It's NOT DOOMED. Some women ovulate more than once a month. It's not that uncommon. You could have timed your ovulation right, but not conceived at that time. Then ovulated again a couple weeks later and conceived then. Don't worry yet - see your doctor to find out if this is the case.

Did he hear a heartbeat? That would be important to know. If he did hear a heartbeat, maybe it's just a very little baby. If he didn't, then I'd worry a little. My sister's son died before he was born, and she had to go through a lot and I know it was hard for her. Find some support, like your husband, to go with you just in case.

Don't give up till they do the rest of the tests. I had a scare like that and my baby was fine, but I don't want to get your hopes up either...hang in there, like the doctors say, if the baby doesn't make it, then there was something wrong...so hang in there and Best Wishes!!
