On a national level, the American 2 party system doesn't work. If you're like me and usually think reps and dems are both missing the mark you're out of luck. Of course voting for an outside candidate in the Green Party or The Liberatarian party (to name a few) is utterly pointless on a national level. The real question here is: if you had the power, how would you solve the problem?

My apologies. The question is loose and could've been better worded. It's not about being pro-choice or pro-gun. I'm hardly a 2 issue voter and if I was the answer would be a lot easier. I'm questioning the effectiveness and equity of our 2 party system. What kind of system would be more equitable and more effective?

You really are in a pickle. On one level your position seems at least consistent. Its ironic that most gun voters consider themselves pro life. I guess its all in how you look at it. Here is a link with some information that might help. Can you imagine the trouble those that are for legalizing drugs and are pro life have?

You sound like a Libertarian. I will not advise on what national party to vote for (if you don't want to vote Libertarian), only you are capable of making that decision. The Libertarian party believes in a much MUCH smaller federal government and fewer laws that curtail freedom of choise. If you choose to own a gun, you should be able to own a gun. If you choose to have an abortion you should be able to have an abortion. It gets just a little too crazy, to me, after that, but I like a lot of Libertarian ideas too, just i think the candidates I've seen so far go over the top. I am an Independant, but I am fiscally conservative, but socially liberal. Usually I will vote for the guy (or gal) I think will raise my taxes the least.

Well you have to pick the one you identify with the most. I am not particularly impressed with one or two issue voters.
With seven of the 9 US Supreme Court Associate Justices being Republican, I have no doubt that Roe will get overturned by 5-4.
Pro gun? Well, if you vote for the party who is essentially pro choice but somewhat anti-gun you are much safer. The Supreme Court may over rule ROE but it will never over rule the 2ND Amendment!!

You CAN vote for whoever you want.
Don't vote based on a party's beliefs as a whole, but whichever candidate you like more.
But if you're still confused, vote Democrat..

We're pretty much screwed.
I'd say vote Democrat, but the party seems to always lack strong candidates...

when you figure that one out, let me know ......and the Dems DO want to take away our guns. remenber Rosie O'donnel? Look at Kerry and Kennedy's great State of Taxachusettes and all the restrictive gun laws there.
