How much does it approx. cost to get a paintjob on your car?

First of all, I'm saving up for a used car (saving up about 4500-5500). I see a lot of good deals and all but I don't like a lot of the colours (especially red, I don't like red). Therefore, I'm thinking if I get a car in the colour I don't like I'll just get it painted. I'm thinking either solid black or white. How much does it typically cost to get this done anyway? Size of the car will probably be a two door, such as a Eagle Talon or a Ford Mustang.

Well I would advise you not to paint the car a color other than its original color because it is a lot more expensive if have it done the right way because they would have to remove all the paint down to the primer to do it correctly but if you do want to get it painted black would be more expensive due to the fact they have to do a few coats of paint before they can even get a true black usually black paint is 3 or 4 coats so it would cost more but i'd say that the price could be anywhere from 500-1500 dollars try www.maaco.com

I would try finding a color you like, because when you have a car painted, it never looks as good or wears as well as a factory paint job, they will shine for a few month's but then. And to get a real good paint job, your looking at a $1000. or more, and this is stupid to waste money on that, put another $1000 into a better car

They have econo paint places - cost around 500.00 - they don't do the inside the doors where they close or inside the trunk or hood. Thats the bad part. To get a good paint job - ok atleast decent...you'd probably look at a thousand. Your best deal is to wait around and find one in the color you like. No sense in spending extra for paint - when you can find one with a nice paint job in the "right" color for you. But Good lluck. paint is pretty expensive.

The price of a paint job depends on how good of a job you want. Remember,you get what you pay for. A good job can cost $1000 or more, a cheap job can be had for $400.

mind you thats my favorate colour it all depends on what kind of paint you have to spray over the factory paint red is actully the most xpensive colour to buy because you have to mix several more colours to make red if the car doesnt have any body damage your probley lokking from 500.00 to a 1000.00 dollars depending on the paint shop check around at differant shops good luck

i think there's enough black or white cars out there it'd be easier to find one. a quality paint job that will incluse door jambs is probably going to be a min $2000
