Avon is a great way to make some extra cash because almost everyone has heard of them and there is a product for everyone. However, most representatives make just enough to get their own products for free.
The key to success with Avon is to have a downline and keep recruiting. Sales play a big part because you have to keep a minimum of sales (at least $250 per campaign) to keep your downline. The good thing is that you don't have to keep an inventory and Avon has a lot of really good training for its representatives. It's only $10 to sign up. It can't hurt to try it out.
If you are interested in a home-based business, this is a website that has tons listed and their start-up fees.

It's like Mary Kay, Warm Spirits...all of those pyramid type almost schemes. The reason I say almost schemes is because they're all reputable and legit companies, and people actually DO make money. However, most of the people make the biggest checks from recruiting others into their business as 'downlines', NOT from pure selling. I used to sell MK, but now I am only a consultant for the discount to myself. The people at the very top who have a lot of people they have recruited are sitting pretty making overrides, but the average girl is only making enough to buy a couple of extra take out meals, a pair of shoes, and...oh yeah, MORE INVENTORY.
I woudn't bother with it unless you can get three solid recruits right away.

i have sold Avon and made money off of it. if you are not really busy you can do quite well. but it does require you to work. you have to send off the orders, make bags for the orders, you also have to buy samples for customers, and sent orders back that the customers return. so there is a little work to it but it is worth it as a business. you have to hustle your own customers also.

When you start gaining customers...say 30 but decide to quit, the rep that you worked for will be the one that gains the customers and the one living of the work you did until your old customers do not buy anymore. See how the rep makes a living off of everyone and not lift a finger.

I know some that have done ok. But you need to be careful and really keep up with it. It's not the kinda thing you do once a month just when you feel like it. It's a real commitment.

I have known people who have and had moderate success with it. It helps if you know a lot of people in need of it first off. If you're going to jump into it fresh, don't expect lots of success.
