SING ME A SAD SAD SONG

WILLY SENKIWSKY 3/5/01 1:00 PM This one 4/20/04 2:30 PM A-Harp, Key of E, Slow Blues

I woke up wondering where my baby gone.
I was feeling worried how my life could go on.
I felt better when I heard someone singing a sad song!

(Chorus)
Sing me a sad song,
Tell me how you rose above wrong!
I don't want no saccharine in the lyrics,
Sing me a sad, sad, song!

It's amazing how it feels when you ain't the only one.
These same things been going on since time begun.
There are lessons to be learned from sad, sad, songs!

(Chorus)
Sing me a sad song,
Tell me how you rose above wrong!
I don't want no saccharine in the lyrics,
Sing me a sad, sad, song!

The time's dragging on oh so long.
When someone tells you; you don't belong.
Sometimes ain't nothing to do but sing a sad song!

(Chorus)
Sing me a sad song,
Tell me how you rose above wrong!
I don't want no saccharine in the lyrics,
Sing me a sad, sad, song!

Sing me a 12-bar shuffle from the one.
Or make it a ballad tell me what was done.
Get it off your chest Baby sing me a sad song!

(Chorus)
Sing me a sad song,
Tell me why you're still going on!
Keep the artificial sweetener out the lyrics,
Sing me a sad, sad, song!!!...

(Repeat last chorus to fade)

"The Blues are the roots, and the other music is the fruits." One of Willie Dixon's favorite sayings, from I Am the Blues by Willie Dixon with Don Snowden (DaCapo, 1989)

"Life is like music, it must be composed by ear, feeling and instinct, not by rule. Nevertheless one had better know the rules, for they sometimes guide in doubtful cases, though not often." --Samuel Butler (1612-80), English poet, Author

"Simple music is the hardest music to play and blues is simple music." --Albert Collins

Here's the link to my site, now I definitely have music, and me singing "That's Just the Way That I Am," an original, there and pics too. There are at least two very nice instrumental pieces in the soundtrack to the movie The Secret Of My Success. They are called Gazebo and Waterfountain. These are both very good.
