The gorilla has more strength and, has already been mentioned,
a better capacity to reason but the bear is just a more ruthless beast compared to the gorilla's relatively docile nature. I'd want the gorilla to win but I fear the bear would. Even more likely were it to be a polar bear!

The Bear silly...it's a carnivore (from the mammal family Carnivora, in spite of its eating anything and everything) while the gorilla is a primate. Meaning?

Bears are routinely aggressive in solo encounters, they have it in them by instinct because they hunt for some of their food. Gorillas, by contrast, are the only species of greater ape that is entirely vegetarian, seriously, they do NOT hunt, not even in groups like chimps or orangs do on occasion.

And even in group scenarios, chimps and orangutans attack: more often than not gorillas *bluff*. Bears don't speak bluff.

And if the bear is a grizzly, forget about it...between the claws and the massive lump of raw muscle between their shoulder blades, forget about it....a full-grown male grizzly bear can knock down a tree as thick as one of its own *legs*, tearing it in half with one swipe....anything smaller than a Hummer isn't going to be intact for long in a fight with a grizzly, not even another grizzly.

Gorilla ,has more brains.
they would weigh in about the same
but the Gorilla would take a rock and smash the bears skull in
the bear is more naturally violent or aggressive .
gorilla are by nature mild mannered ,but if it gets really mad if the bear wanted to eat its baby
the Gorilla would kill the bear ,his fur would protect him from the claws and he could also rip the bears arms off

Of course..the Griz wins..no contest AT ALL!! An adult male Griz can kick serious butt..lions..tigers..all are no match for his strength or feriocity when enraged or attacked...and he is one of THE strongest animals ever to grace this earth..

maybe..only an elephant could take him..but its never been tried

google some photos of the bear...educate yourself

grizzly bear wins with unmatched ferocity and the additional motivation of primates being on its menu.

it would be the grizzly bear, although the gorilla is capable of severly injuring the bear.

I would say the bear. It is naturally more agressive and has some wicked claws.
