Someone said it was for the pitcher to warm up on the mound, but they could have just done that sooner, and I dont believe it is for TV advertising because the time were like this before it was a big deal for TV. I am looking for the REAL answer.

They have a nominal start time on the hour; they allow 5 minutes for the singing of the national anthem, the pitcher to warm up, and a few other preliminaries.

Hmmmmm... thats a good question. I know its not the pitcher thing, because they start warming up wayyyyy before the game starts. I know its not TV advertising either. I was thinking it was to give time for the national anthem and to announce the players. But, you'd think they could start that 5 minutes earlier too.

It actual hearkens back to the days once you will desire to easily hear to video games on radio. maximum radio stations do a appropriate of the hour information and with a view to no longer screw up the stations, video games have been scheduled to start at a time whilst each pitch would desire to be heard. keep in mind baseball on the radio blossomed interior the 30s (melancholy) and 40s (WW II)

Because they just want to make things more complicated. The people who set the times just want to show everyone else how they're in control of the scheduling. Who knows, next we might be watching games at 8:27 in the morning.

cuz the game starts then
the pregame stuff like the national anthem and the the first pitch stuff is done then. that all takes like 5 minutes so the game doesn't actually start until 5 minutes after or whatever it is

Have to let the TV sponsers get their commercials in before the first pitch. Those sponsers who do get them in pay a huge price

It's all about the $$$$$. First the introduction, then the car and beer commercials and then the game starts.
