Well, the thing with homosexuals is that both people are looking for other homosexuals. At least both sides are looking for the same thing.
A transgender person is looking for a straight person, but a straight person by definition is looking for another straight person, not a transgender person.
A straight person looking for a transgender person (or willing to accept a transgender person as they would a straight person) is much more rare.
The ability of the transgender to "pass" as a member of the desired gender also plays a part in widening the pool of people who might date you. The more you pass, the easier it is for straight people to see you as what you identify as.
Transgender folks have it much more rough than homosexuals, at least in this regard.

I think it is more about where you are and the company you keep. In the past transgender folk were hanging out in the seedy underworld with gay men. And the kind of guys that lurked about there were too ****** in the head to make good companions. These days its more out in the open. As you may know here in NZ we have a high profile member of parliament who is transgender. She was on the verge of giving up her career just so she could have a more discreet lifestyle and perhaps find a partner. She felt that men would fear the publicity that would probably eventuate. She was persuaded to stick with her career. She may be our prime minister one day.
So stick with living your life and doing what you can to enjoy it without feeling like 'a man' is the answer to loneliness. Dont count on finding a good man, there arent really that many available to find. But a suitable character may just find you when you least expect it.

Finding a partner is either hard or easy for everyone. Whether you are gay, straight, trans...I think it doesn't matter at all. It is how people are attracted to you and how you present yourself to everyone. It just depends...
