set a trap to catch her, but not to harm her and see if she comes to some food.

If your hamster is lost in your house, think of where it could be going to find something to eat and drink. Small creatures like that have high metabolism and won't live very long at all without food and water. If there's an area where you think the hamster is going, you can sprinkle flour around in a layer on the floor (or on a newspaper on a carpeted floor) in that area and then if the hamster crosses that area, you will see its tracks in the flour. If you put a cage or container on the floor so that the hamster can go into it and put food and water in it, its possible that the hamster would go in to eat and drink. If the hamster was lost outside, the chances are slim of ever finding it alive. If you do suspect its hiding in a particular place outside, again you can try placing a container so the hamster can get into it, and hope the hamster might go into the container for food and water.

I have a pet hamster too and would be worried sick if he were missing! And he's extra little: a dwarf. But just in case it were to happen, I read about what to do in a book. Yes, nighttime is the best time to find him/her. What you need to do is take a cardboard box and cut out a space in the top to prop up a wooden board for a RAMP. Put the food inside the box. When Spice gets hungry, he will find the food (maybe leave a small trail leading up the ramp-not enough to get full though). And there will be Spice in the box (hopefully) unable to climb back out. I read this in a reliable resource so it's definitely worth a try! Ask for help if you need it. Shouldn't be too hard to make the contraption. Good luck!

It depends on whether Spice is in the house or not. Put some of Spice's favorite treat and water near where he got out. Go away and check later. See if any of the food is gone. Once you know if Spice is still around. You could set up a live trap. It is the only way I know to catch one.

Get a bucket and then take a long board and then put the board up to the bucket...Like a ramp..And then make like the bottom of the bucket nice and cozey...And then get alot of the food your hamster likes and just make a trail up to the board and up the board then put something that would smell good in the bucket...Then the hamster will fall in...(It doesnt hurt them a bit if you make it nice and cozey!!) and just check it everyday...And also you can just clean out wherever you keep your hamster and always look for signs of your hamster being somewhere...Such as: little turds, stuff being chewed, smellyness, etc.,

I lost my hamster about a couple of months ago, and I found her inside the wall. Don't ask me how she got there because I have no idea, but I had to open a hole in the wall in order to take her out. She stayed there for about a week and I still wonder how she survived, also how she got out of the cage.

That's funny we have one that gets out alot. Most of the time you just have to wait for it to show back up. Ours was out for 4 weeks one time. Sometimes if i know about were she is at, like I see her in the kitchen and she goes under the stove I will lay a pitcher on in side with food in it and she will go to the food and I will catch her that way. Good luck, Hope you find her!!

Have you tried the long lost art of hamster herding?...I believe it involves mastering the hamster's mating call, a high pitched shriek, crawling on all fours and twitching your nose....I've heard it works every time...bon chance...

Shake the feedbag. Tap his cage. Set out some food in various spots around the house. This happened to me with my pet rat. Anyway, hope you find him.
