tri means 3, so a trimester is 3 months. If you are in your 2nd trimester you are about 3-4-5 months pregnant.

Okay, it is confusing...lol....tri means three, so every three months (or 12 weeks) is a new trimester....we count a month as 4 weeks though, and in that case pregnancy is really 10 months long instead of 9.....and your last trimester is longer than the first two...

actually the tri mesters are broken down in 3s if you are in your 2nd trimester you are between 4 to 6 months pregnant. Your 3 trimester begins at 6 months.

every 3 months-ish.
Weeks 0-12, are first trimester.
Weeks 13-26 are second trimester.
Weeks 27-birth are third trimester.
It's not quite clear cut into months, that may be part of the problem you are having. Hope that helped some!
