I don't know what's up with that. I guess intolerance and or misunderstanding. I have absolutely nothing against anyone who chooses not to eat meat. Two of my siblings are vegetarians for over 10 years and it's cool with me. I even cook for them and serve to the rest of the family, kids included, with no problems. We can go without it.

I think the funny looks are in your head. I really don't pay attention to what other people are eating.
If, however, a non meat-eater makes a BIG production about their dietary choices, I do roll my eyes a bit. (I mean the "Gosh there is nothing on this menu I can eat" remarks at EVERY meal, and the "I haven't eaten animal flesh in 12 years", "I feel so much better since I gave up meat" etc.)
I respect your choice to choose what you eat, but it really isn't all that interesting a topic. Just do your thing without comment and without dramatics. Nobody will even notice.

I am meat eater and the reason I have a problem with vegetarians or vegans is because so many of them have tried to shove their beliefs in my face. I know its bad to generalize but that"s what I've done. I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah and we have a gang here called Straight Edge who are known for doing things like jumping someone because they smoke and burning down meat plants and so forth. I dont care what anyone's beliefs are until they infringe on someone else's rights. And I've seen a lot of non-meat eaters do that.

I think people often times assume you think they're bad people because they eat meat. Also, meat is in a really weird way really ingrained into a lot of people's brains as the only way to truly eat a good meal, so basically in their minds, they can't understand why you don't want to eat. I hope that made some sense.

People look for others that are like themself. It's a nature thing. Being different and not conforming is a difficult task. If you have good reasons not to eat meat then your friends shouldn't give you a hard time.

I don't know, but I understand what you're going through. I've been a vegetarian for over 16 years. I once had a coworker tell me I was disgusting since I didn't eat meat. Wow I didn't like her. Luckily my husband respects my beliefs and doesn't give me a hard time about it.

Some who choose not to eat meat have a habit of walking with their heads a little higher in the clouds and try to make a man who likes steak feel guilty about it. Poor cow, they say.

You can avoid eating meat in restaurants quietly. Look at the menu and find items that are meatless and order them. People will only notice if you make a big deal of it.

Probably because you announce it to everyone you meet.
Like Vegan is a persecuted religion.
You a Vegan evangelical?
That could really put people off.
Blame meat eating for all the worlds woes?
Feeling kinda superior?
Thats probably why the CARNIVORES dislike you.
