Squirrel Pudding:
Here is a very good recipe for baby squirrels or sick and injured squirrels that need to get strong and fat while recovering. The following recipe is from Paula Drake, who has been successfully rehabbing squirrels for many years.
10% fresh walnuts (15 to 25 raw, shelled)
1/3 tube of Nutrical or Nutristat from pet store
40% Gerber baby apple juice
40% Gerber baby rice cereal
2 jars of Gerber baby peas
1 jar of Gerber Dutch apple desert

Do Not Feed The Squirrel! If it's mother doesn't come for it soon, call animal control or a rescue group to come and get it. They are wild animals and should not be kept as pets.

No bread they do not eat bread! If the eyes are open it is at least 30 days old and still on formula! Find a rehabber in your area! You can try cheerios and maybe a shelled unsalted pecan.

I think it only drinks it's mothers milk if it is a baby. Don't pick it up-the mother may be in the area.

In addition to the others' suggestions, you can break up some bread for them, too. I know they like white bread.
