I am confused about the term...is it gay, bi...what?

Generally, yeah, it means a guy is straight but has a gay man's "sense of style" whatever that means. ;)
Some people try to push it harder than that, make it more of an insult by saying metrosexuals are all effeminate too, but that is hardly the case. Essentially the term was invented by resentful, non-urban straight guys who questioned the "straightness" of guys who do sorta girly things (body shaving, using shower gels, wear designer clothes and take care of their skin) to look good.
Pity it isn't much of an insult, isn't it? *lol* :))

Nope, this is just a trendy word to describe straight guys (heterosexuals) who put some thought and effort into their appearrance (fashion conscious, use hair products, etc. maybe even get a facial sometimes)
It refers to a hip, urban kind of attitude about fashion, etc, for straight guys.

It means that you spend a lot of time on your looks. Have you ever heard someone call a guy metro, it just means that he cares about how he looks, he's not a macho guy or redneck he is urbanized. It doesn't necessarily mean gay.

To put it nice and simple, metrosexual means guys pretending to be girls and doing girl stuff. They wear tight pants, go to beauty salons and all that junk. Believe me, it is VERY disturbing! (Shiver)

it is a man who takes care of himself and has many feminine qualities but is not gay. For example he could take hours to do his hair, likes to go shopping and dresses up. Gets his eyebrows waxed, his hair highlighted, likes to go to the spa, things like that.
