Because the result of each game in the group can be effective on the other match.
for example, imagine england vs. sweden be after the trinidad & tobago...
if trinidad wins paraguay, and the teams undrstand the result of that game, the players of england may loose to sweden perpously to advance sweden.
another example;
or if germany loose to ecuador and be the 2nd team of group A and trinidad loose to paraguay and the teams undrstand the result of that game, the players of england may loose to sweden perpously avoid playing against germany in round of 16.
in other hand it may effect mentaly and spiritally on the other match.
it is even more comilicative but because my english in not good enough i can not explain it for you.

Ill give the whole explanation.
FIFA dosent want the teams, playing with result of other teams in the same group. For example. final game
Group 1
Team A 3 points
Team B 3 points
Team C 3 points
Team D 3 points
The purpose is to be among the 2 best in each group to qualify for the next round.
A is gonna play B, C is gonna play D.
They have to play at the same time, becouse if they don't, you would play according to the result of the other teams. for example, C and D tie. so C and D get 4 points. A and B know this and could play according to the result of the D and C match.
This is not what FIFA wants, it wants the teams to play for the right reasons, not for the results of other matches.

both game need to play at the sametime because out come of each game affect each other. they don't want anyone have an upper hand know the outcome of the game.
