It is a scam. They tell how good you are but all they want to do is sell you stuff. Stuff that is overpriced and you don't need any of it.
I sent a piece of junk poetry (wrote it in five minutes - barely rhymed) and they offered me a page in a compliation book but I had to pay ... offered me an award and a throphy ... but I had to pay ... said I was in a contest for $10k with a good chance of winning but I needed to pay an entry fee .... do you see a patern here?

If you get a message from the website telling you that you have to pay $$ to make the finals or to have it published or to have it sent to a publisher etc then it is a money-making scam for the website. You will never see the so-called winnings.

If they want some money out of you or if they try to sell you something then it is a most definitely a con. Unless you provided personal information on this form like a social security number, credit card number or bank account number, don't worry about it.
If you provided anything like this cancel credit card and contact the card's fraud department. If you gave them bank account info, close the account and reopen one at another bank.

You should find out some deeper info. maybe search the site for interviews on people who have recently won...i think i have been to that site before but i cant remember...you could also search for a phone number to call or an e-mail address...you could send some Q's to them...

I don't think you should do it for the money, write a poem and share it with us, I would love to hear it, and besides, you'll always be the winner for me.
