Love everyone else's kids, and I know I would be a great mother..but having a child 24/7 is not for me. Why do I get strange looks from married women with kids. Is it wrong for a woman not to WANT to be a mother?

No! You recognize that you don't want to take care of a child 24/7 and that's great! I am a mother myself and it's a HUGE commitment to have children. I wish more women would think about it before having kids they don't want to take care of just because they like kids or think babies are cute. I commend you for your honesty!

Not wrong at all. Our society still has a stigma about women in some areas of life, this being one of them. Same as some working women are looked down on for not being there with there kids ALL the time, and even like men who decide to be stay at home dads, and so on. It will change I'm sure, but will take time... If need be, find a polite way to let them know it's none of their business (if someone is rude) and kids just aren't for you.

No there's not. Some people are just stuck on the dream of 2 kids, a dog, a husband and the white pickett fence. Some people think that's the mold and it's ok if you don't want to fit into it.

No, it is not wrong. You obviously love children or you would not care for them daily. However, you just dont want the responsibility in your own life. When you nanny you still eventually give them back to thier parents. Dont worry what others think.
