I think that there are more than 1 % of scientist that believe in god, maybe even creationism. But yeah, it would be good to see him stand up and say he believes the world is only 6,000 years old, and them even more people would realize how kooky he is...hehe

Because there is a segment of America who very much believe in creation. I know people right now who will argue that the earth began 6000 years ago, no ifs, ands, or buts. I took a cave tour and the guide said the cave was roughly 3140 years old. So there are quite a few who believe it in various forms. And there are a lot of these people.
On the flip side there are plenty who believe in Darwinism. Who look at creationist as religious zealots who blind themselves to facts.
This is an issue that those who believe will not change their minds. This is also an issue that on the big scheme of things really doesn't matter on the national level. Creation vrs Darwin doesn't really come into play on medicare reform.
So any statement will just upset one side or the other and its an issue that really doesn't matter. So why should he open himself up for opposition on an issue that really has no right answer to his constituents. I doubt you will hear any politician make a statement on this issue.

Becuase those that don't accept the logical idea of creationism would not listen, And of course since it is obvious by what is happening with the "global warming" sciencetist being fired if they don't agree, what is a scienctist suppose to do but to find and support thier teachings, even if they are silly and beyond proof. Scinece can not prove anything, and they know it,

I wouldn't say that. The figure is probably closer to 85% of scientists. Why doesn't he "admit" it publicly? Probably because he figures, as I did, that this was common knowledge - that 85% of scientists are as dumb as people in Congress.
