It is a really important question. In this Worldcup we see that many of the players don't try to show their best in national teams and the play so much better and even try more to play better in their clubs.

How ever clubs pay them more money and i think it will spoil national team qualities... not all of the players show patriot...

if the things continue this way so what will be happen with the national teams?
is really money and clup more important than the nation and country...

so u tell me you opinion about this to 2 C:

You make a great point. Club football is their day to day living. It is about money and they have to live up to their contracts or lose them. Country, well that's about heart and pride and to me it would always come first. Australia has suffered from this problem in the past, with International clubs they play for not releasing them or qualifiers or other International games in case of an injury that would impede or stop them fulfilling their obligations to their contracted club. It's a pretty sad situation. I think it's more of a problem for countries who are smaller or have no political influence in the football arena. It would be really sad to see club football become so important that country meant little or nothing. If that ever happened, goodbye World Cup Soccer. It would cease to exist.

you'll find most players, playing for their country are having to play different styles, and tactics than that of their club style,so a lot of the time it only looks like they're half trying.a good example is steven gerrard of england and liverpool, for club he is an attacking midfielder who just impresses virtually every week and scores some awesome goals, but for country he is forced to play a holding role that keeps back. but for some players you are probaly right and they are more interested in money and don't want to run the risk of injury. but i'd like to believe that the marjority of players are more than proud to be playing for their country and will give their all...cheers

I think there should be a good balance between both because when you play club its a career its money it team mates its publicity where as country is you pride where your from who you are so both should be important
