Are the "Zeta People" back, LOL. Relax... originally they were coming in 1999, then 2000, then 2003. Then there was a big fuss about it in 2006. I actually wrote a short story on the idea. It was supposed to come in May, I think, and be visible by the Dec. before that. There was quite a bit of hype on it. Then, of course, it didn't happen. Now I suppose they are using the ancient Mayan 2012 prophecy as their next target date. Don't worry... it's a hoax. They always fade away for a while then have a lame excuse why the comet didn't come on the previously promised date.

No. The 2012 "end date" is really a beginning date.
The Mayan Long Count calendar will "roll over" from 12 Baktuns to 13 Baktuns on 12-21-2012. (Like ours going from 1999 to 2000 except that a Baktun is about 400 years long.)
On that day there's an astronomical alignment between the rising sun and the Milky Way which only happens every 26,000 years. This signifies the rebirth of the sun and the dawning of a new 26,000 year grand cycle. It's not about ending at all.
This world already ended and everyone missed it.

It depends on your belief system and your definition of "Apocalypse" It is noted in the Mayan calender, but also in various other ancient societies that a major shift in the human race will occur during that time. The 11 gates also explains this.

The year/shift does not necessarily mean death in the physical sense, but has alot more to do with your spiritual being.

You could google 2012 or 11:11 and find some answers.

It is stated in physical science terms that the earth has just about reached its limit on its ability to hold its axes. And thus, the core of the world is rotating at a much faster pace than the outer crust, and moving around in such a way that it will knock us off our course, thus causing great earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and weather conditions due to activity under the seas. It seems throughout history this has happened, as far as they can determine about every 27,000 years to 32, 000 year, and it looks like we are at the tail end of about that time give or take a few thousand years.

This is why they say, "best you have all your ducks in order". The rotation of the earth and the position of the stars chart our course. Signs of the times.

The Mayan calendar ends at the year 2012 which is where this idea comes from. However, it ends in that year because that was the end of a particular cycle that they used to make their calendar. There was no mystical or prophetic reason for the calendar ending on that date.
