That's why it is called faith.

You believe in cold, yet that doesn't exist.

You believe in darkness yet that too does not exist.

Cold is the absense of heat. Darkness is the absense of light. Neither exist, yet all people believe in both of these. Your senses tell you that these exist, yet neither do.

God exists, without God you get evil. So yes we can believe in God. If all people believed in God and followed His laws, then the world would be a much better place than it is today.

You used a keyboard to type in, there were words printed on keyboard which changed things in the CPU and millions of units of current passed from here to there and lots of light and electric waves were produced for all us to know that Mr. Bestman wants to know How. Do you have a cell phone? Have you seen it being operated or an ordinary phone? Can you think of these things being produced spontaneously? Without any reason? They were thought about a lot first then came into being. See its just not the production it is the knowledge behind production which is operational all around you. And these are all things, plastics and semiconductors which we can see with our eyes. Now imagine you, me and billion others. Do you think we were just manufactured? Can't there be a superior knowledge than ours? to create us and that with a purpose? If you can believe in your computer you can believe in a God even though you don't see Him, you can know about Him by seeing and observing. Can you see the air? You can't live without it. Have you seen the distant north pole? the temperatures their effect the entire globe. Seeing is not a proof that there isnt a thing like north pole or air or for that matter God. Moreover if you believe in God you are not losing anything:) Chances are you find some good within and outside you.
Pope is another matter. He is just like you and me. Basically its the catholic church which has created holiness about him. A regular guy, with good knowledge of theology is pope and is reverred. If there is no pope, world can go on, but the same world wouldnt have been created if there wasn't a divine will. Lets not mix human with divine.
Still asking:)

You can't see the WIND can you? Yet you do believe in it. It is a matter of Faith with God. You can choose to believe in him or choose not to. Personally I don't listen to the Pope. Why do you think he is the only one that says there is a God? What about all the Jews and the Protestants?

No, we cannot. There are no evidence that god ever existed, some believe that god is just a man-made up thing. Some reasons why one might make up a thing called god is because for money and power purposes. Hence, churches always ask for donation of money, therefore, the one who created "god" must have had a similar motive, either for money gains or power gains. When one says, "Give your life to jesus and be saved," it just doesn't make sense. How are you going to give your life to jesus when you control your own life. And people always say good things happen because god is with you, how are they going to explain about all the negative events that have happened in your life? They might come up with a response similar to "everything happens for a reason." All I can say is, believe in yourself, not something that can't be proven existed.

The wisdom of God could not be learned through the wisdom of this world. No matter how advanced and progressive man's wisdom is, it could not be used to decipher the wisdom of God. Why? Because God's wisdom is a mystery, hidden by God Himself for ages:

Ephesians 3:9 says New international Version

"And to make plain to everyone the administration of this mystery, which for ages past wast kept hidden in God, who created all things."

Therefore believing in God is our to choose... better than believing in human...

"For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God."

(I Corinthians 2:11-12, New King James Version)

Good Luck in seeking the true answer for your question...

Just a quick question. Do you know that your grandparents had parents? And that you will probably have children in the future too? Just because you can't see them doesn't mean they don't exist. And the pope's before you - like the very first one - you probably haven't seen him either. It's the same concept.

God is one thing, religion is another thing, catholicism is another thing, and the Prada pope is WAY another thing.

Start by separating things.

But yes, the way catholics put it, you are right. It makes no sense.

Why You need to beleive when You can simply know. This knowledge come from inside of You. In order to find this knowledge You need to decide that You need it and want it. It does not come to You from others. Do You really know WHO YOU ARE?
