sometimes I even draw a little blood, it's really gross. When I was younger I used to chew on my nails and now I just bite around them.

You have to start by saying how ugly your fingernails are! it will give a bad idea about you to people you meet. Go to a beauty center and get your nails some manicure, then try to get yourself occupied and more especially avoid getting nervous, when you're nervous try to apply some nail polish on your fingers, choose colors that you want, and when you want to remove the polish remember to not scratch it but use a polish remover! keep your nails beautiful, it's an important thing! hope it Will work for you.

I do that alllllll the time, and I'm almost 21. Go to CVS or Walgreens and get this nailpolish stuff called "Bite-It." Put that on your nails, it tastes so bad that you'll want to stop. You can't bite the skin around your nails without your tongue or lip touching your nail, and once the taste is there, it doesn't go away no matter what for a minute or so. So it helps you pay more attention to when you do it and helps make you stop. I've just about stopped, but make sure you read the directions carefully for a couple weeks straight, don't slack off!

Hope that helps! Even if it doesn't, it was worth a try... Good luck!!!

i did the exact same thing, i went to the dentist and they told me how much germs were all over ur hands, and i eventually grew out of it, and kinda got embarassed about how rough and nasty my fingers looked

If you really need help, put clear nail polish around your nails on where u bite, and if you still do it, put pepper in the nail polish and put it over your skin where u bite

go get manicures. ( the training schools are cheap and ok) the manicure process will remove the bits of skin and there will be nothing there to bite. plus youwill begin to take more pride in nice hands

There's no definite way to stop. But the best thing is to try to be as consciously aware that you are doing it, that way you can stop wehn you start.
