Great question Rosa.

George W. Bush is President because he is uniquely suited to be a agent for powerful economic, social, governmental, militaristic, religious forces largely hiden in American society who have developed and finally become powerful enough and methodical enough to fool, cheat, steal and pander their way into the White House.
The people in general are still fooled by these greedy leaders who work behind the scene and continue to to give George W. Bush his power.

OK.. so I'm Canadian and just sit back and watch as George bush runs the US into the ground! The man is a complete idiot! The man should have never been president ... he doesn't know how to make a good decision to save his life! ... seriously if you want to know a good take on George bush watch "Fahrenheit 911" .... it say it all!

Because people considered him the lesser of two evils. Look at Dan Gore and his hysteria over global warming. George Bush was the religious rights's knight in shining armor. Little did the average voter realize that he was about to squander the nations economic prosperity in two areas of Asia and rebuild cities for tens of thousands in Iraq while incapable of repairing the damage from a natural disaster her at home.

He won a majority vote with the electoral college system where if more than 50% of a state votes for you, you get all of the vostes of that state. Thus, you could win 51% of a few kep states with large populations and not the rest of the country and still be elected. Also, he had birthrights to the throne cause his daddy was in politics and naturally everyone coached him, fed him lines, and you and I voted him in, So be happy with your choice, or at least my, choice!

Politics are wierd if most people who voted for him knew who he really was, I think they would either abstain from voting or change their vote, but then again Bush could probably feast on fried kittens and puppies his whole life and his supporters would still probably worship him, shows you what a bunch of spin and lies, a war, and fear can do to a person when they vote.

it was just the better of the two, God help us if Gore had been in there, we may have surrendered to Iraq by now.

It is not that he was a great choice but the only choice that did not mean ruin for america for sure, both sides need to pick some real choices that want a strong america and will not sell out to self interest groups ( like both parties on immigratrion right now)

Because the people of this country are desperate for leadership and will listen to anyone who steps up to the plate. Right or wrong, Bush's speach writers know how to play the people who voted for him as the lemmings they are.

Because John Kerry hired an incompetent campaign manager in Mary Beth Cahill that allowed Karl Rove to shape who Kerry was in the publics mind.
