To spare yourself a headache... just be the first one to tell him "I love you, honey." He'll be more than happy to reply to you :)

Don't ask him if he "does," because of course he does and still cares for you as much as you care about him. The reason why he might have difficulty replying is that he might assume you're either challenging him to say otherwise or worst of all doubting that he trully feels like that towards you.

If he still around, that can be enough.
My BF never heard it growing up so he does not say it. Ok once in 18 months, But he shows me in many ways that he love me.

Just because he doesn't say it verbally does not mean he doesn't feel it emotionally. Some people feel uncomfortable saying it so they choose to show it. Pressure him to hear it and you may just push him away! Take it slow and allow him to express it his own way at his own pace.

take it from a guy -> he does not love you. Care about you maybe, but he doesn't love you. He just doesn't want to be blunt, because he (one) is a wuzz and also (two) he fears it will be over between ya'll.

you should never have to ask if he loves you. if he has not said it dont pressure him.
