Soap is a combination of NaOH(lye) [Sodium Hydroxide] and lard or Potash (KOH) [Potassium Hydroxide] and lard. It has polar and nonpolar ends. The polar end attaches to the water, and the nonpolar ends attach to the dirt. Thats how it cleans you. It has a pH (Hydrogen concentration) of around 8.0pH -10.0 pH. If the pH\
is too low, than the soap won't work, to high and it will react with you skin and will 'burn' your skin.

Mainly animal fat. Soap doesn't actually do any cleaning. How it works is the soap is made up of oils that counter act with the natural oils on your skin lifting it off. The dirt is beneath that oil and without your natural layer of oil there, the water can then wash away all the dirt and excess oil left by the soap. Your body then gets all oily again in just 15 minutes and then the process of the oil catching dirt and the dirt sinking to the bottom stars all over again!

You mean the soap you wash with or the computer program?
If it's the computer program:
SOAP is an acronym for Simple Object Access Protocol. SOAP is a very simple XML-over-HTTP wrapper for popular connective technologies, such as COM, Apple Events and CORBA. It should be possible to talk all these protocols by wiring up to SOAP.
If it's the other kind:
A mixture of the sodium salts of various fatty acids of natural oils and fats.

Geez, OK, let's think about this:
SOAP, it could be Simple Object Access Protocol), used by web services to format messages.
or
Soap - a made for TV serial drama, like "The Edge of Night"
or
Soap - a common cleaning compound, used for a variety of jobs like bathing, laundry, etc., that may contain lye, lard (tallow), minor abrasives and oils...
or
"Soap" - An 80's TV series starring (among others) Billy Crystal.
or
?????
Take your pick, I'm sure there are many others....

Soap is formed or created when a acidified fat (usually from animals) called a fatty acid is neutralized with a alkaline substance(usually lye or potash). This process is called sapponification, and produces the soapy sudsy cleaning power we have come to know as "soap"

Soap is made up of oils/emollients, lye/borax/cleanser (one sort or another), perfumes, dyes, phosphates and preservatives. It works on a molecular level. It doesn's necessarily cleanse you. It attaches to the dirt moecules, making them heavier which allows you to elimiinate them with the application of the heavier water molecules.

I'd give away the carrot soap. I'd use the coconut soap. I'd eat the chocolate soap while bathing with the coconut soap!

yeah, dino dino got it right. people used to make their own soap by rendering animal fat, like port fat from cooking pork, and adding lye to it. it makes a chemical reaction and heats up and combines, then if you pour it into a shallow container it hardens into a mild, nice smelling hard block of soap. you cut it up into little blocks and you have a bar of soap.
