I want to start using Birth Control for the first time in my life. Which Doctor should I go to for that? My General Physician or my Gynecologist?

I don't know how old you are, but my advice is to ask women you trust about a good Ob/Gyn, and get a thorough exam before you go on the Pill. There are several different types, each with varying levels of female hormones, and knowing your history will help a doctor choose the right one for you. Many general practitioners are uncomfortable answering questions regarding sexuality, but the ObGyn is not. This is his or her specialty.

Go see the GYN- they know a LOT more about that stuff!! If you need a referral for your insurance be sure to get that from your family Dr first.
