Yes definitely. In 1998 N. Korea lunched a missile right over Japan in an attempt to diplomatically threaten/pressure western nations and Japan into giving N. Korea aide. Currently the communist N. Korean government is a world leader at producing fake American currency in order to help prop up its struggling Stalinist regime. N. Korea would lunch a missile again and in the past nine years since their last attempt they may very well of improved their ICBM technology to the point where it poises a real threat to the USA.

I just measured the distance from the Westernmost part of North Korea to the South Easternmost part of USA (Miami). The total distance was around 7,700 miles. The "experts" say that North Korea's missile could have a range of 9,300 miles. This range completely covers ALL of the USA.
If they fire that missile, I say we put Afghanistan on hold for a month and go turn North Korea into a parking lot. I can't imagine anyone on Earth would miss them too much.

Madeline Albright said the other day that the Iraq war has sent but one message to the international community. That message is countries that have no nuclear weapons will get invaded, countries that do have nuclear weapons will not. Iran and North Korea both have always been more of a threat to national security than Iraq ever was. We have solidified their position that the only way to keep us from attacking them is to possess a weapon that will damage us enough to think twice. But to further answer your question, the missle does not pose a threat to the USA....It will take probably many years before they have a full ICBM nuclear warhead and guidance system capable of reaching US targets ready. It does suggest however that they could possibly attack our allies in the region. I think to a large degree we have brought this on ourselves by fighting a fake war in Iraq and not paying attention to what were real threats to our well being.

Roburo, what "hype"? The "hype" of how the N. Koreans kidnapped Japanese citizens, or how they have been caught spying on Japan-- or the Korean conflict. Don't kid yourself brotha, these bastards are cold.
