Do not listen, Limewire = Illegal, just like torrents and what used to be napster.
Just remember something. Free != Legal, in the field of music.

If you want to download music legally, buy it trough iTunes.

I don't think this is possible, sorry. You need to pay no matter what. But the simplist way would be to get an itunes card found a lot of times at target. You can choose your amount from 15 to whatever dollars worth of itune credit. It's really helpful. I know this wasn't exactly the answer you were going for but I hope it helps!

There is no free, legal place to download music. It either costs money, or it is illegal. The artists have to make profit for their work.

You will either pay for the service or they will put crap on your computer, by companies that pay them to do it.
99.9% of the stuff on the internet isn't free.
