The non-religious answer: We don't exactly know what Jesus said to anyone. In the Bible, Jesus' story is told through second-hand sources. Those sources may not have been around the day Jesus was going on about the overall 'roundness' of the Earth. Either that or nobody believed him. He was telling everyone he was the son of God and all...

The religious answer: He did. he told Colombus.

The fact that the Earth is vaguely spherical, while interesting, was irrelevant to Jesus' mission. Jesus came to save the world from its sins, and to pay the infinite debt incurred by Adam and Eve at the Fall.

Further, the ancients knew that the Earth was spherical. This is evident in the works of Archimedes.

Jesus was not an explorer or a astrologer. He was a prophet, therefore it was not his destiny to discover and report the shape and size of the earth. He was here to spread christianity, and I think that he had no idea the world was round, as that would not have matter to him at the time.

Because he knew that in reality the world is not round but flat. Jesus always told the truth.

He didn't need to. There is a scripture somewhere in the bible... I honestly can't remember where, and it says something like "the circle of the earth...". Sorry that I can't remember any more then that, but I know for a fact that it's in there. Also, there is a scrpiture that talks about the earth being hung apon nothing. (a.ka. gravity)So even back then, God gave the answer if you look hard enough. Hope this helps!

Because the material world and its components is not what Jesus came to teach us. He was more concerned with our immortal souls and our belief in everlasting life, that is full of Love, (meaning Love as in God and Spirit) than that which is carnal and limited and full of pain and suffering.

He would be quickly crucified for blasphemy or proclaimed to be an idiot unnamed historically, and today we would not have so-called Christianity and its fanatics....
