Does anyone else ever feel this way? I am a driver manager for 100+ truckers and sometimes just get tired of listening. Oh well, it is a good job and I really am not complaining, just wondering if anyone else is frustrated at having no time to themselves.

I work from 8-5 here, have a company cell phone 24/7/365, am a volunteer firefighter, EMT, and full time mom. I don't mind all of this because I like staying busy. i just get drivers calling at 10pm or 6am because they are "working too hard". I have been truck driver and know exactly what they do. Maybe they just have never really worked in their lives.

I am a nurse in a hospital. I work 12 hour days. I leave my house at 6 AM and don't get back home until 9 PM.
I work and work and work.... sometimes without even a thank you. The sweet little old lady who is 95 years old and outlived all 3 of her children is the one who makes me do it. She is happy to see me and understands life in a way I probably never will.

Yes, I only work 9 hours a day but the commute is horrendous so it ends up being 12 hours per day. I am too tired by the end of the day to do anything else.......ahhh I could use some sleep now....zzz....zzz.. sorry!

i think i'm at that point in my life right now.. all i do is work.. and when i get home.. i'm on the computer AGAIN.. staring at the damn screen.. it's pretty pathetic
you have to find ways to BALANCE your life.. switch up your routine every once in a while.. go on vacations.. or do whatever it is you enjoy doing.. or are passionate about.. whether it is your kids, a significant other, or a hobby or two
bein' single.. i find it hard to try and balance my time.. i still get caught up in the daily routine..
i'm workin' on it though

Absolutely... and my job doesn't even pay enough to buy me a new life!! Sometimes, I want to run and hide... like throw all my clothes in the trunk of my car and leave the state, but *they* would just find me and bring me back....*sigh* Oh well, who knew being an adult would be soooo boring?! (and tedious!)

you made pew in the church, now you have to sit and bear it. people get overwhelmed with the notion that I have to find a job, buy a house and get married. which is great but it leaves little room to smell the roses. most important thing is not to let work, work you. you'll die overworked and under appreciated with nothing to show for it. Take a break, goof off a little.

You know when your job has taken over your life, when you get home FROM work and then immediately do something related to work (ie...check work email, review paperwork, talk to someone about work...)
Just don't let them see the flask you have hidden in the drawer.

Yes, been there done that. It is not worth it in the long run. Find something that allows you to have time to yourself and family. Even if it is less money, the financial sacrifice is worth it.
