I'm really nervous? What is it like to have kids? I think I' ready in some ways, and not ready in others. Any advice?

Well I had one kid before I had twins, but nonetheless it was just as nerve racking. Having kids is like a rollercoaster...it has great moments and awful ones too. For having twins I advise that you figure out a support system. That is people who can help you in different ways...emotional, physical, ect. I would get intouch with twin clubs. They are great at helping you find things you need. Now is the time to plan AND budget. Like anything though it can all change last minute. You have to take it and roll with it. Now here is the fun part...you get two kids at the same time and not one after the other. Diapers and bottles are hard to keep up with, but after awhile that goes away. Don't go overboard with things if you can't afford two cribs or the delux stroller. Have a bargain shopper show you how to bargain shop. I breastfed my twins and they did great...so if you want to you can. LaLechLeague is great at helping figure that out. If you want bottles instead...be prepared. Life with twins can be very fun, but the best way is to just plan ahead and be prepared. For the last Trimester your going to need alot of help. I would get yourself walking or exersize in one form and eat very healthy. The first week or two after having the babys I would see about having lots of premade frozen dinners ect to just 'pop' in the oven. If you have a church that can help....let them. Good luck...It may seem overwhelming now, but once they are in your arms....your heart will totally just melt away.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! I have 2 sets of twins (they run on my Dad's side of the family)and plus I have a single birth also. I have so much advice I don't know where to begin. Well, start stocking up on diapers and wipes now (I bought a package a week and I didn't have to go out and buy diapers for quit a while after they were born). Contrary to popular belief, you don't need two of everything. The only things that you really will need two of are carseats, highchairs (and I recommend the kind that just strap onto a regular chair - you'll get more use out of it and they don't take up so much space), and cribs (one will do at first if you only have one - mine liked to sleep together at first). I only had one swing, bouncy seat, and exercauser. I had them take turns in them. I have not bought a walker for ant of my kids and they all hit their milestones at the appropriate ages. Expect to have them a little early so be prepared. Try and have someone there with you for the first week or two until you get their routine down. make sure that you have a routine. It makes things a ton easier when they have set eating, sleeping, bathing etc times. And probably the most important thing is to have them on the same eating schedule. It is a real pain when you feed one and an hour later you have to feed the other and so on because they will want to eat every 2-3 hrs in the beginning. Sleep when they are sleeping. Just enjoy and take help when offered. Twins can be a handful, but it is also twice the love.

YEAH, rest up NOW!!!! No, just kidding, honestly some things are easier with twins, buy the time they are 6weeks old they start entertaining each other a little bit and you should have smooth sailing until they walk. eeeeekkk.

Being a mom is the best thing in the world, don't worry, as soon as you have your babies everything will come naturally!
Good Luck and No Worries!!!!!

How exciting, two at once! I think having two is the same as one, you just have to alternate their schedules a bit so you can have quality and quantity time with each. My advice, stock up. Buy a package of diapers and a package of wipes each time you go to the store and can afford it. You can never have enough! Having raised 6 of my own, with a few dozen more foster children under my belt, my best advice is pray! Prayer is so awesome! Pray for your kids daily! It will truly cause miracles in their lives. Best wishes!

Your never really ready until it happens. I would read up or take a class in stress, and patience. It would also help to build up your supplies now, find people that are willing to help relieve you on occasion, personal time is essential as well as your sleep. Don't worry, the better your prepared to accept your challenge mentally, the easier the rest of it will be.

Try talking to other mothers of young twins. They are the troopers in the field for new mothers. They have the experience and war stories that go along with the joy of having twins.

I would suggest asking the doctors office or searching websites for twin clubs in your town. Even triplet and quad mothers would be happy to share the experience.

Congrats and take your doctor's advice to heart when he says bed rest he means it. Get the book what to expect when expecting. Great book for first time moms. Also watch your salt and sugar intake and when you start showing start laying on your left side more as this helps take weight off your major veins to the heart. God Bless!!

No advice. Just congratulations! May they be healthy and live to be old.

On a final note. Ignore that fleeting thought of shooting your husband while you're in labor. That's normal. Every Mom feels that.

But my best wishes for you, your husband and your new ones is sincere.
