Any job Americans won't do! No seriously, I started working at 14, at a restaurant in Santa Monica, for $2.35 an hour, OK, so it was a long time ago! Then again I didn't run to the politicians and say "Hey, I can't raise a family of 7 on this income! Make them pay me more!" It was a first job, when I gain experience from and move on to another job that pays more. You can too. Go to any business that's privately owned, not some big corporate place with stupid rules and regulations, and look them straight in the eye and say " I'd like to work for you. I'm a hard worker, and I'm legal!" If they say "You're too young", say "What I lack in age, I make up in effort. I will work harder than most of your employees you chose because of age and not effort" If I don't perform to your expectations... let me go! Just go do something, and you will make money, and great job skills. Remember, the work force needs you, always remember that. Also, make sure your priorities are straight first, at your age, parents, school, friends and family! And be a good person, someone, that someone would be happy to hang around with, after all, your asking them to be with you for some time, so be cool! Good luck!

When I was 14 I had a job at the local Chevy dealer washing cars. It was a great job! Minimum wage, but what ever, you're 14! I didn't need a drivers license or anything but some dealers may want one. I just went around with a hose and bucket and washed the cars where they were. I'd try that out, it looks good on a resume and it's easy and fun. Try to get a friend to come with you though, it's a much better time with some one.

well, anything that doesnt require reporting to the government, i.e. mowing lawns, doing chores around some peoples homes, selling lemonade, ebay stuff.

When I was 14, I was able to work for a fast food restaurant, but I had to have a work permit from my school, which limited me to about 10 hours a week. Of course, that was in 1980, so rules may have changed, but good luck!

Jobs in the service industry usually work well for high school students. Fast food restaurants, bus boys for dinners, bag boys for grocery stores are all positions usually accommodating to a young person's schedule. These jobs usually allow for extra curricular activities and working longer hours on weekends.

paper boy, dishwasher, landscaping, Canobie Lake worker, food store...........just about anything that does not need experience,........but your parents will have to sign a work permit.......you get the permit from your school. Even in the summer, when school is "closed"........the office of the high school is open certain hours to do things, like give out work permits..............and just know, that usually you need to apply for a job maybe at 10 places, before one hires you.........because LOTS of kids are looking for jobs in the summer. It's best to dress nice, go in person to stores, ask to see the manager, talk polite, ask if he is hiring, tell him you are eager to work, and keep doing that until you find something. Good luck.

I believe you are not old enough to work anywhere because you have to be at least 15 or 16 years old. You can probably work as a baby sitter or ask if your neighbors need something done so they can hire you to do it.

depending on your state and its work permit, you probably could only (legally) do babysitting or be a lifeguard for the summer.

I know where I live you can obtain a work permit at 15 y/o. So you may want to check on that.

Only babysit if you like kids! Dog walking is a good money maker. My daughter did that when she was 14 and she got paid really well!
