Yes, very addicting. I was hooked for a few months.
Once you get to the expert level like I did and feel you've accomplished it all, the addiction will fade.
Favorite song to play is either "Crossroads" or "Texas Flood."
So now I'm more or less on break until Guitar Hero 2 comes out this November...
Check out www.scorehero.com to feed the addiction some more.

Yup, I'm hooked!
I've only had the game since Friday and I'm on expert level already!
The hardest song on there, for me, is Cowboys from Hell. I have small fingers, and trying to get all 5 buttons to work at the speed you need to play them is tough!
I'm not new at music games either. I've completed 4 versions of Donkey Konga (UK, US and JAP), Beatmania and Gitaroo Man as well as a couple of dance mat games!
All I need is a second controller so that my husband and I can play against / with each other!

It's funny, I play the real guitar and find this the next best thing. I was playing it in my local game shop for about 45 minutes until the guy said "Buy something or get out" so my Expert level went un-finished. If he'd have let me finish QOTSA I would have been satisified.

haha.... YES
and i don't even have the game. or a PS2.
got hooked on my brother's copy with only about a 48 hour exposure window. what a neat-o concept. i even started compiling a list of other great guitar-driven tunes in my head for a sequel (theres only so much you can fit into one game!). Even allowing for the fact that the next one will be potentially three player - bass, rhythm and lead.
(oddly the 80s is a rich seam of such stuff, particularly the early works of bon jovi before they started gradually softening into a small pool of jelly.... sambora was a developing axe god even on the first album)

I work in a game shop, the lads I work with spend all day playing it and have unlocked the really hard songs, I had a go on "I love rock n roll" and gave up straight away. It must be a man thing!!!

I played a demo of this last week, and now I'm saving up my money to buy it! *lol*
It's VERY different from playing a real guitar, but that's half the fun. :)
