1. As Buffy says in the first ever episode, "Welcome to the Hellmouth"... "To make you a vampire they have to suck your blood. And then you have to suck their blood. It's like a whole big sucking thing. Mostly they're just gonna kill you."
The vampire bites a person and drinks their blood, then when they feel the heart slowing down, the make the person drink from their (the vampire's) blood. The person then dies, then rises anywhere from a few hours to a few days.
2. Darla turned him in 1753. She found him drunk in a pub, and thought he would make a good mate. This can be seen in the Buffy season 2 episode "Becoming Part 1," as well as the season 1 Angel episode "The Prodigal."
3. Vampires can go into Vamp Face anytime they please.
4. Angel was a bad vampire for many years. He even had a different name then, Angelus. In 1898 in Romania, he fed off and killed a gypsy girl who was held in high regard in her clan. They then put a curse on him. He would be a vampire with a soul. He would have to feel the torment of all the wrong that he did. And to make it worse, he would lose his soul with a moment of true happiness. So he knew that he could not let that happen, otherwise he would lose his soul and start killing many people. He had to give up happiness.
5. David is a handsome man.
6. Buffy's mother, Joyce, learns Buffy is a vampire slayer in the season 2 episode "Becoming Part 2." Buffy is wanted by the cops for Kendra's murder (another slayer who was actually killed by Dru), and Buffy's mother wanted an explanation. At that time, a vampire attacked. Buffy staked the vampire, and told her mother the truth. "Mom... I'm a Vampire Slayer."
7. Buffy's father is a deadbeat dad. Her parents divorced shortly before the start of the show. His name is Hank Summers. He can be seen in 5 episodes. The season 1 episode "Nightmares" he came to pick Buffy up from school. The season 2 episode "When She Was Bad," he was dropping off Buffy back home after she spend the summer at his house. The season 2 episode "Becoming Part 1" he is in a flashback of the night Buffy learned she was a slayer. He was fighting with Joyce (Buffy's mother) about the right way to raise Buffy. The season 5 episode "The Weight of the World" he is part of Buffy's mind. Buffy is replaying the false memory of her parent's bringing Dawn home from the hospital. And last, the season 6 episode "Normal Again." Buffy is hallucinating that Sunnydale is not real, and she is in a mental hospital. He is at the mental hospital trying to "help her." After Joyce dies in season 5, in the episode "Forever," Xander asks if she still hasn't talked to her father after her mother's passing.
Buffy: The number he left for us in Spain is no good, and I've left messages everywhere.
After Buffy dies in season 5 finale, we hear about him in the start of season 6, in the episode "Bargaining Part 1." We learn that he is in contact with Dawn still.
Tara: (To the Buffybot) We can't take the chance that Mr. Summers might talk to you and know something's wrong.
We also hear about him once more in season 6. This time from Buffy in the episode "Life Serial."
Buffy: Wanna be my shiftless absentee father?
8. The slayer before Buffy was never mentioned on the series. She was, however, mentioned in Buffy books. Her name was India Cohen. She lived in Japan. She can be read about in the Buffy books "The Book of Fours" and "Tales of the Slayer Volume 3." She was the active slayer from 1993 until her death, and Buffys activation, in 1996.
9. She became a slayer right before the series start. There is a flashback in the season 2 episode "Becoming Part 1." Her then watcher Merrick informs her that she is a slayer, and tells her what to do. Also, this can be seen the the Buffy the Vampire Slayer original movie.
10. The episode you are talking about is "What's My Line Part 2."
Xander: Moron!
Cordelia: I hate you!
Xander: I HATE YOU!
They kiss because of all the tension that kept building up between them with all these near death experiences. Before the kiss, they hate each other. After the kiss, they start dating, but still not too fond of each other. Xander even cheats on her (which is the end of the relationship). I think by the time she leaves the show, that they finally have an understanding of each other.
All of those answers are 100% correct. And detailed as well!

1. I don't know how people become vampires but I think that if you listen to the intro. of the show, it's sort of like a given, that evil coexists with the good ("In every generation, there is a Chosen One. She alone will stand against the vampires, the demons and forces of darkness. She is the Slayer").
2. Darla, another vampire, bit Angel and turned him into one, sometime, I'm not sure, between the 17th and 19th century.
3. Yes, they can transform during the day as long as they are in the shade and not under any direct sunlight. Otherwise, they burst into flames.
4. Angel became a vampire with a soul after he was cursed by some ancient elderly figures to punish him.
5. Yes, I think he is.
6. She found out at the end of season 2. I can't remember the specific circumstance 'cause it's been a long time since I've seen it.
7. Buffy's parents are divorced. She and her mom moved to Sunnydale, while her father stayed in Los Angeles.
8. I don't know who the slayer was before her.
9. Go see the 1992 movie with Kristy Swanson as Buffy. She was approached by a Watcher before Giles when she was still in high school and living in LA.
10. No, I haven't seen it. I only have season 5. Xander always had a crush on Cordelia but she's a popular girl who doesn't want to be seen hanging out with Xander and company, much less date him. Somehow, after getting herself in trouble from time to time and always getting saved by Buffy and the gang, she started to see them differently and treated them with some respect. Of course, only in their company when no one else is around. As for love? Maybe just a little. She appeared to have been really hurt when she caught Willow and Xander kissing.

1. In Buffy, people become vampires from being bitten (i think). Buffy gets bitten at some point in the show, so she is influenced. Other vampire series require drinking blood, or being born to a vampire. Depends upon who you read/watch (Bram Stoker, Catherine Nevelle, Ann Rice, etc).
2. There is an episode of "Angel" (did you know he had his own show for a while?) that shows how he became a vampire. It was outside a pub in Ireland in the middle ages. I can't remember the name of the female vampire that bit him, but she comes back as a problem in that show for a few eppisodes.
3. No. The vampires on buffy cannot transform, nor can they tollerate sunlight, crosses or wooden stakes. They can tollerate silver (untollerable in other vampire series).
4. He used to be a bad vampire. But was cursed to have a consence by a witch he seduced, then jilted. So he became good. Then Angel became evil again for a while after he fell in love with Buffy and took her viginity. So then Buffy staked him (several eppisodes later), he went to pergatory for a while, then Buffy brought him back, and he was good again (don't remember which season that was, but it took several episodes to get through). Spike the other semi-good vampire is good becasue some secret government program put a micro-chip in his brain which will kill him if he tries to bite humans. He would really love to eat people still, but he can't so he helps out Buffy (also cuz he has a crush on her).
5. Yes.
6. Buffy's mom finds out in the second or third season. She was appropriately surprised.
7. Buffy's parents divorced and so that's why Buffy moved from LA (See Buffy the Vampire Slayer the movie that started the TV series). The dad shows up at some point in season one or two, but then he later has a heart attack and dies.
8. Don't remember.
9.See Buffy the Vampire slayer the movie. The pilot eppisode for the show and the first season finale.
10. I believe they started cuz of some wierd haunting. They dated for a bit, then cordie moved to "Angel".
Enjoy!

Ok Here we go!
1. When you are bitten by a vampire
2.Back in the 1800's when a powerful vampire named Darla bit him.
3. Yes but most vampires are sleeping during the day.
4. Angel became good when a gypsy cursed him by giving him a soul. Having a soul made him feel all the pain he caused so now he helps people to try to make up for it.
5. Yes I like him so much I started watching his ne show called "Bones" when his show ended.
6. Buffy had to tell her when the fate of the world was in her hands and her mom didn't want her to go out.
7. Her parents were divorced.
8. I can't remember her name but she was a black woman who Spike killed.
9. That was determined in the movie that the show was based on called "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" which stared Kristy Swanson. She was approached by her watcher when she was in High School. He trained her.
10. Cordelia and Xander never got along because they were in different groups in scool. One day they got locked in a closet together and they just started making out. At first they eache wanted to hide it from their friends but once everyone found out they really started to like each other until Xander made the mistake of kissing Willow and Cordelia saw him.
I hope I answered all of your questions with enough information to understand the show better. I was upset when the series ended. I really loved it.

I was a Spike lover from the start and always will be!!! Even from the begining you could see there was something else to him, and just before he fell in love with Buffy and got the chip he was adorable! And has always been so funny! Riley's a loooooooser! And Angel - though pretty - is such a wet blanket. The character had no humour, it was just constant depressing moodiness all the time!

1) "They suck your blood and you suck their's. It's a whole big sucking thing." (quote from "Welcome to the Hellmouth")
2) He was sired by Darla (as told in "Angel" and shown in "Becoming Part 1")
3) They can transform at any time--day or night. It's whenever the feed is upon they, they transform.
4) Technically, they aren't like the devil. They are actually demons. According to Buffy-lore, when a person becomes a vampire, they die and their soul goes away but the body comes back to life inhabited by a demon soul. The demon soul takes on the darker aspects of the person's personality (hence your evil side is just basically all of your worst attributes amplified). Anyway, Angel became good by means of a curse. He made the mistake of killing a beloved daughter of a gypsy clan. They retaliated by giving him the worst curse possible--they gave him back his soul. As a result, he had the desire and hunger to feed but his conscience forbade him from doing so. Further, he is forever wracked with guilt over the untold number he slaughtered (early on, they mention that Angelus was among the most vicious of vampires that ever lived and the brief time we say him, there was evidence that might be true).
5) As a guy, I abstain for macho reasons as to how "hot" David Boreanaz is. But I will comment that, in interviews, he comes across as very nice person. As a piece of trivia--watch the episode of "Married with Children" where the Bundy's go to the movies. It has an early appearance by David as Kelly's boyfriend. He's far dorkier looking (even though he's supposed to look tough) than he was just a couple years later on Buffy.
6) She found out in "Becoming Part 2" when Buffy had to kill a vampire right in front of her. As expected, she didn't accept it at first (finding out that your only child is the chosen one to save all mankind from the forces of evil is a tough thing to swallow) but she eventually came around.
7) Technically, it's hard to say because after about 3rd season, he was never really mentioned (except 1 time in Season 6 in passing). He divorced Joyce Summers (as shown in "Becoming Part 1" he couldn't handle Buffy even before she became a slayer) and moved away. He only showed up three times on camera (in the second season premier showing him bringing Buffy home after she spent the summer with him, in "Nightmares" where Buffy had a nightmare that her parents divorced because of her and in "Normal Again" where Buffy had a vision that her parents were still married but she was in a psychiatric institution). After that, he drifted out of the picture.
8) If you're asking who was the most immediate slayer before Buffy, they never said (it may have been mentioned in one of the books but I've only read some but not all of them). There was a slayer, Nickie, whom Spike killed in the late 70s (as shown in "Fool for Love") but they mentioned any between Nickie and Buffy (who was selected in the mid 90s as shown in "Becoming Part 2"). I'm not saying there wasn't one (there always one at any given time) but that they just never mentioned her.
9) She was told by her first watcher Merrick (as shown in the movie and in "Becoming Part 1"). They never mentioned it in the series but, in the movie, he was killed by a vampire and Giles was selected as Merrick's replacement. She became a slayer when she was 15 years old and a freshman.
10) As you may have guessed, I've seen Season 2 quite a few times (that and Season 3 are my 2 favorite seasons). They made out in "What's Your Line?" because of the stress of the situation that brought them together. They had passionate feelings for each other (in the form of hate--Xander used to be the treasurer of the "I Hate Cordelia" club) but the danger transformed it into love. They never really liked each other before and their relationship was doomed because they were so incompatible for each other.
Tip (based on the questions you asked): Watch the Buffy series from the first episode on (as opposed to skipping around). Even though there are a large number of self-contained episodes (particularly in the first 2 seasons), the overall plot and character developments build over the course of the series and makes you appreciate it all the more.
