It challenges players and apparently the Sox are up to it since they seem to pound that wall. Back when Fenway was made, all the parks were challenging and Fenway was the only that remained. There was a park where right field was more than 420 feet and left was only like 320...Its just the way they were made back then and Fenway is still around..so yea

The Big Green Monster is one of the features at Fenway Park that makes it unique from other parks. Many long line drives, home runs in other parks, end up being long singles at Fenway, one of the best, if not THE best, parks to watch a MLB game. Every seat is a good one.

Go SOX!!

On line drives that can be true, but how many pop ups to left field have been home runs because it is so close (Bucky F@#$ing Dent comes to mind)?

Ever been there? It's so cool. Makes the park very unique. If there was a uniformity rule to parks that would be one thing, but there ain't so I say keep it.

But on the other hand, balls that would be fly-outs to left, end up as hits.
