You can look in newspaper classifieds to check on some rentals.

Here are 2 sites that will take you to lists (and links) of all the newspapers in Idaho and Montana.

You can also do an online search for rentals. Type "idaho rentals" or "montana rentals" in quotation marks. You'll get a few good websites.
