No. I used to smoke, and then I quit. I didn't want to put any more of that crap into my lungs. Why should I have to put up with it when I go to a restaurant, movie, or just about anywhere? If they want to kill themselves, that is their choice, but they have no right to inflict their pain on me.

well if your a smoker i guess it has. im a non smoker but i used to smoke and i do like to eat a meal without noise loud talking young children crying or simply being a pest. i would rather have a smoker nearby instead of these other annoying things.i guess your a smoker because you asked but i really think the non smoking population has gone haywire.you may not even be able to smoke outside where there is no one around because of these people and their tiny brains.you or i will never live forever here and i dont want to.if you smoke email me and we can come up with some options for your areas.people think that by avoiding smoke they will increase their lifespan.yeah right.they go jogging and get hit by a fast moving car and thats the end for them.i respect smokers and im smoker friendly

No, I don't.
Honestly, I can understand why someone born in the 1950s or 1960s would smoke, but I can't understand why anyone that's been born in 1970 or later would even begin to try smoking. It's addictive. It will make you throw away an average of $1600 per year to shorten your life and poison your lungs. Plus, for anyone that might become romantically involved with you, it gives them the privilege of kissing an ashtray.
I'm quite sure that if people in power weren't making as much money as they are due to the continued proliferation of cigarettes in the market, cigarettes would already be illegal. The only reason they're tolerated at all is the total greed of everyone concerned.

Yes. just because they ban it, doesn't mean you wont die from something else. secondhand smoke is bad, yes i know. but, anywhere you go, there will be at least one person smoking. so, everyone is just going to have to get used to it. you get cancer from tanning beds and that will kill, but you don't see people banning tanning do you?
Skin cancer can be caused by years of UV damage from the sun. But indoor tanning beds are even more dangerous. "Those energy values are 10 to 15 times higher than the noon-day sun."
The ultraviolet light from tanning beds may:
Cause eye burns if protective eye wear is not used.
Worsen some chronic conditions such as lupus and diabetes.
Interact with some common medicines, such as naproxen, that can cause increased sensitivity to light. This may cause a severe sunburn-like reaction or, in extreme cases, death
that is just an example that nothing is safe.

Yes, I do. I am a non-smoker, who only smoke occasionally socially - maybe once every 2-3mo. I love going back to the east coast because there are still diners and bars you can smoke in, and it's great! I live on the west coast and you can't smoke anywhere here. When you go to a bar, you have to go outside and smoke in the front - it's ridiculous.

Yes.
Some do-gooder got a bee in their bonnet, started a nationwide movement, and decided that tobacco was bad and they were going to get it banned everywhere.
Studies that claim second-hand smoke kills people have been largely discredited, much like the saccharin studies years ago where the rats only died if they had thousands of grams of saccharin a day...the amount of second-hand smoke necessary to even equal one cigarette smoked "normally" was something on the order of being in a bar with 100 smokers for 100 days 24 hours a day...
Wacko activists with funky science. Sheesh.
And I'm not even a smoker!

Yes. I am a non-smoker, from a family of smokers, but they are getting crazy. In Philly, if your at a bus stop, on the street corner smoking a cig, you can get a $300.00 fine! Wait, your outside smoking and can still be fined? I understand and apperciate some smoking bans, but it is still legal, and they are just getting carried away.

Not only has it not gone overboard, it hasn't gone far enough. Employers ought to have the right to charge smoker employees higher premiums for health coverage, since their addiction harms not only themselves but others.
When we invade other countries to spread democracy, we ought to ban smoking there, too. Since we knew what was best for those people politically, doesn't it follow that our health practices are also superior?
