It's not so much the makeup that you use as it is the companion products that you put on first and after.
1. Start with an oil free moisturizer, like Oil Free Daily Hydration, from Boscia. This will create a barrier between your makeup and the lower layers of your skin, preventing it from soaking in too quickly. Also, it has an SPF 15 to protect your fair skin from the harmless rays of the Cyprus sun.
2. Next, use a primer, like Photo Finish from Smashbox. It will help control oil and shine, and also give you 10-12 hours of wear out of your foundation. Moreover, because it contains dimethicone, your skin will look fabulously smooth in your wedding photos.
3. You'll need an oil free foundation, too. I like Smashbox, NARS, Stila, and CARGO.
4. A transluscent setting powder will work best for you, like Airspun powder from Coty, available at any drug store. Unless your skin is very dark, just buy the shade "translucent" and you should be fine.
5. Last but not least, invest in some blotting papers to touch up your makeup instead of powder. These super-thin sheets are coated with rice powder to soak up oil without adding unnecessary layers of makeup.
All of these products are available at either Sephora or Nordstrom.
BONUS HINT: Before you go, ask your doctor to write you a Rx for "Drysol" a prescription anti-perspirant that will keep you drier than a bone, preventing any sweat stains on your dress and your future hubby's tux.

Unfortunately, I've yet to find a particular brand of make-up that works well in warm weather. Perhaps you could try going to a store such as Sephora, or to a make-up counter such as MAC, and asking them?
The biggest thing that sticks out in my mind is making sure that you match the make-up to your skin type (oily, dry, combination, etc.), and not doing something such as wearing an oil-based foundation if you have oily skin...that would just be a nightmare. Also, make sure you have blotting papers with you; repeatedly caking powder onto your skin tends to look bad, and the papers will help to absorb any surface oil you'd produce during the day without disturbing the make-up.
Have a fabulous wedding! :)

Hi..first Congrats on your upcoming wedding! I had the same concerns as you. I live in SC, so you can imagine it is always hot and sticky. Anyway, I was using a make-up felt greasy, too shiny and rubbed off on everything. Then I tried Lancome and I love it. I won't go back to anything else now. It feels smooth, not greasy or shiney. Good cover up and lasts all day, even in hot weather....and little side tip...Lancome's perfume 'hypnose' is awesome!!! Your new hubby will LOVE it!

Honestly it depends on your own skin type (i.e. dry, oily, etc.). I like Origins Foundations, especially Nude and Improved. Of course that is my skin. I have been told that Shiseido, Pureness Matifying Compact Foundation is great. I used to use M.A.C. for years, but it clogs my pores and I melted in warm weather. So I went to Nordstrom and went to all the counters until I found what worked for me. Prescriptives is another one you might want to try. Look at the ingredients and stay away from “talc” and other non breathable ingredients. You might ask your esthetician and see if she/he recommends anything. Good luck!

the thing is that everyone is different try going to the make up conter explaining your situatin and asking for a trial most of these are free check first and DO NOT buy any thing straight away see how it hold and how long it last then make your mind up you. keep a not of they have used on you and what you liked best im sure you will be buying bits and bats from loads of different places because you might like a lip stick from one counter and foundation from another.
good look with wedding.

All depends on you skin type and skin colour. Go and see a makup consultant and they'll point you out in the right direction. If you want it so your makeup doesnt fade, try getting one with a high SPF so it protects you from the sun and doesn't sweat off. All my makeup is Chanel and Dior and they stay on all day! So i recommend that definatly!

Go into boots or john lewis i'm sure they will help you out, they'll test the mk-up on you too. They can be quite helpful. You prob want a foundation with a matte finish that way you won't shine. It different with everyone when it comes to mk-up because everyones skin is different, you have to try products out for yourself. Have a fab wedding you lucky thing! ;-)

The magazine Real Simple just had a good article on makeup products that can take the heat. Look for the July issue.

Mineral make-up is your best bet. As for brand names you just need to try some and decide for yourself. Go to a search engine and type in mineral makeup. Make sure you are given instructions on applying the makeup. I live in south Louisiana with sticky, humid weather. My makeup lasts all day and is healthy for your skin.
