carriers = us cellular, sprint, virgin mobile, boost, anywhere.

I have to assume you want phone service without paying every month.

Find the service you want at price you can live with.

Ask lots of dumb questions.
Don't believe everything they say, check it out.
Then and ONLY then decide what phone you want.

You can get pre-paid cellphones there, without further obligation.

You can buy one without plan but it is going to cost you a lot.. Try ebay but they have real high costs. I am myself trying to find some place where they sell phones without plans.

You can BUY a phone WITHOUT a PLAN... on ebay or at any cell phone store... or at walmart if you get boost or t-mobile anywhere.
