They both are one in the same. For there can be no memory of an experience without the experience. Kind of like asking over and over which came first the egg or the chick. An experience be it good or bad is the whole of the memories one has about it. What gives the experience life and eternity for us here and now is the memories. But like all things, the further one gets away from the experience the memories re-write it, and by the time it is said enough the experience itself is not really what happened and just what we felt during the time. There is a saying. There really is only the past, for the instant we enter the present/we have passed through the future and thus, only the past remains.

Actual experiences are more important, because the memories of them cannot exist without the actual experiences.

While experiencing something you have no opportunity to learn , for it is happening while you becoming experience itself. Memory allows you to replay that happening in slow motion, seeing details needs to be examined and resolved for your benefits. Once learned memory of it is not needed. If neglected to learn, then experience will hold its memory on a surface and will makes you re-experience the same experience in different pictures over and over again. If constantly neglected, it will drive you nuts, leading to all kind of desperate conclusions. Better to learn as quick us possible, then let it go completely. That clear the space for new experiences to come.

well proabably the memories because some things dont seem so good at the time but when you look back it can cheer you up to think of it, and also the memories can stay forever whereas the actual experience cant. But it depends what it is really!

Actual experiences.

Memories are the prison of the human mind. If you didn't have memories then everything would be eternally new and fresh. But then again, how would you learn?

I think experience has a different impact on each person, depending on personal history, temper, previous experiences, etc. This is why the same experience doesn't have the same result on everyone.
By definition, an experience (whichever it may be) is something supposed to produce effects through the time. If it was something "static" and limited to itself, it would not be an experience. I guess.

I would say that memories are more important. It is through memories that we are able to come to know universals, such as "man." Coming to know the universals is very important, because without them we are unable to come to any demonstrable knowledge.

I would say, however, that actual, current experiences are more proximate. That is to say, it is imperative that we act according to what is going on around us. If we do not, we risk not only limiting our memories, but hurting ourselves physically, as would happen if we do not move out of traffic. :)

Well, you can't have one without the other. If there were no experiences, then we would not have the memories...
