My new husband's ex wife will not leave him & his family alone, even though she has remarried & is pregnant with her husband's child. She really screwed him over when they got divorced, but now finds ways to keep coming to family events & trying to break up our marriage. I just need some advice on how to deal with it. My husband's mom says she is welcome any time. They were only married for 1 & 1/2 years and have no children. She cheated on him & that is why they got divorced.

again ...all on this thread have given you great advice...but seriously... you need to have a serious talk with your husband...if she is attending other family functions ...he needs to be the one to tell his family ..

..."if she (the ex) continues to come to family affairs...you can exclude me and my wife."..

..he also needs to inform the family that .....
the ex is his past...and his ex now has a husband and family of their own...and that he now has a new life with you...and a life he would like to share with his whole family...but if they cant respect him and you enough for that ...well...to exclude you both from all family get togethers.

this will be hard...however..must be done.

good luck

I have a similar problem. Let your husband know how it makes you feel and also let him know that if he does not stand up to his family you will be forced to stop going to his family events. Explain to him that you feel this is now your family and you should not have to go to family events if she is there and you are uncomfortable.

She needs ot steer clear of him and let him love his wife. He may need to get an order of protection against her. Or he needs to move and not let her know where he is living. He also will want to change his phone number to an unlisted number as well. He needs to have not contact with her whatsoever.

Tell her to back off and leave him alone. I know exactly how you feel. Give her and your husband the look so that he knows how you feel.. Talk to him. Does he know how you feel?

Its not your place to do something. Your husband needs to take care of the problem.

You need to be up front and CRYSTAL CLEAR with this woman to her face and tell her what you told us. ALSO your husband needs to step in and tell her to cut the crap. Then change your phone number.

You need to tell her exactly what you wrote "get over him and leave his family alone"

u need to go to your husband and tell him that it makes you uncomfortable to say the least, and ask him to ask his mother not have her over , it is truly disrespectful to you and your relationship with him.
