By any chance did you make your folder private before reinstalling Windows? I did the same thing and it took me awhile to figure out how to access the data.

You need to use Windows backup to backup the data and then you can restore it. At one point, you will have the option to only back up the data or to back up the data and the security. Only back up the data and then after restoring it, you will be able to access your files.

If you have XP Pro, then this utility is already installed. If you have XP home, then you need to install it from the CD. See the article below for full details on installing and using this utility.

Good luck!

If you did a repair, and the files aren't working, it's because the system registry was recreated, causing all programs associated with all your files to be "uninstalled" even though they're still technically installed. If you've done a full re-install of windows, then you have completely irraticated your files and you've lost all your work. Your only option left is to take your computer to a company with the capabilities of retrieving lost files. It will cost you between 250 and 750, but you might be able to get back what you need. They will have special hardware and software on site to do this. If Microsoft had actually kept thier Dos Prompt, isntead of switching to Command Prompt, you'd be able to do it yourself with ease, but it's not so easy anymore.

If you reinstalled windows, then you have totally erased your hard drive. Did it ask you to partition? If you partitioned your drive, then you have wiped all memory.

If you wanted to reinstall windows, then you were supposed to backup your hard drive before you started the reinstall. Windows XP setup removes all data from your hard drive and its irreversible and unretrievable.

sure, you may also desire to take a look at your historic mouse and verify if the identical factor occurs bec. it's feasible that the situation will also be brought about through the sport itself. However, whether it is the opposite direction round, im certain that the brand new optical mouse you've gotten continues to be on assurance and deliver it again to the shop and allow them to verify it for you.

Please.. add more details about how you cannot open it... do you mean you cannot access it anymore; as a message appears telling you the file is not accessible... or you double click on your files and they just don't open ?!!
