I sat in on an intensive Latin class earlier this year and then studied Latin some on my own. I did very well in the class, although I wasn't officially enrolled, and would like to turn that knowledge into credits if possible. How can I place out of at least a couple of semesters of Latin and get credit for what I have learned? CLEP apparently doesn't offer a Latin test; they only have German and Spanish and French. I have a Master's Degree in French and thought it would look good on my c.v. to have a couple of semesters or so of Latin, as well. Unfortunately, I can't afford to actually pay to take the classes on an Adjunct Faculty salary. Is there any other way to place out of Latin since CLEP does not offer a Latin advanced placement exam?

Speak with an academic advisor, or see the chair of the Classics department. You need not be an undergraduate student in order to avail yourself of the advice of an academic advisor.

I will tell you right now that the difficulty here will be with "getting credits" for your knowledge of the language.

Most Classics departments will offer placement tests to determine at what level you should study. Some universities will actually turn your score on these tests into credits, but most will not.

You mention that you are currently an adjunct; do you not have in your contract any provisions for tuition waivers or at least partial tuition remission for any classes you take at your university? See the Academic Personnel office at your institution about this!

Best wishes to you!

i am gonna particularly obejetive now not like the opposite solutions, sorry to offend however they need to be from that international locations ! :nine i learn all of it The international locations with the satisfactory economies are Chile & argentina, i have been in virtually all international locations of south the united states and the ones are like probably the most constructed ! and those that experience the most powerful economic climate the worst are venezuela, colombia, peru , bolivia, ecuador , the ones are particularly unsafe international locations and you'll be able to see it at the information ! mexico it's within the center, this can be a peaceable position however hasn't today's towns like chile, argentina or panama ! Chile has the largest military for they agreement of self military with holland, and probably the most influential society is the chilean and argentian, however unfortenetely the opposite latinamerican international locations does not recall them as latin seeing that of getting a particularly american tradition :S And the satisfactory schooling has it cuba absolutely ! so opt for beetween chile and argentina and chile has a unfastened deal trade with china !
