If I call someone from my pc to phone service will that person be able to hack into my computer? I do not want to give out my personal home phone number and am wondering if this is a safer way to communicate.

a pc to phone terminates on a telephone, not a pc by definition. The most info they could get from you would be the called id. so you have little to fear from the person you are calling.

However, to be able to call from your pc, your pc needs to be connected to a network, so you have to be careful that it it lets you call out but that you know what is opened from the outside so that no one comes in uninvited. firewall are a good way to protect against outside attacks.

you dont need to make pc to phone calls! as long as the person you want to talk to has the same IM service as you do, all you have to do is switch over to the talk option. and all the good IM services are free to download and use

it's dumb for yahoo to say instant messenger with voice, cos it has always had voice since i've used it!
