You can attach a html receipt to the mail and it will usually tell you when the email was read as well as other details.

Here's one program you can use: http://www.msgtag.com/Confirmation_Email_Receipt_Return.html

You can also use a program such as Outlook or Outlook Express to send e-mails. They have the option to Request a Read Receipt.

Since I don't think Yahoo has a return receipt feature why don't you just ask in the email as a:

p.s. "Please reply to this as soon as you get it so I will know you received it."

Or if you know them personally, ask in the email if they will call you as soon as they get it.

That should do it.

If they reply to it or not, or just ask them.
